What is O2, Manufacturer: Retailer: Service Provider?

I have today received an e-mail direct from O2 telling me that they are not phone retailers.!
I have read your email and taken on board all the points raised within.
In relation to the sales of goods act the part which you have
highlighted is true but is actually applicable too the manufacturer of
the handset we at o2 are the network provider and as such a responsible
for the use of our network and the sim card we provided you with as a
duty of carewe have provided an alternative repairs process which is
usually quicker than the manufacturers ( average turnaround with o2 is
approx seven working days whereas a manufacturer repair can take
considerably longer - esp when the company is based overseas such as
dell).

I think we're missing a big chunk of information before we can comment.

Depending on the circumstances O2 could be either Manufacturer, Retailer or Service provider. Or even all 3.
Who did you buy your streak from? If you bought it from O2, then they are a retailer. (this is what I was assuming in your other thread)
That email leads me to believe it was bought elsewhere?
