Guide: Migration & porting into O2 lists the ways of moving a number from one network to another, vs swapping the SIM to which your number is registered @Slayer1971uk. if, for example, you are sent a SIM to use in a new 5G phone where your old SIM was only a 4G-capable one.

but that still has nothing to do with the original question. the original question stated about transfering old number to new sim. copying a sim has nothing to do with it. and also when it comes to transfering an old number to a new sim o2 are totally useless even when you spend 4 hours on the phone you just get idiots on the other end who cant do a simple thing

Seriously. Swapping a sim has absolutely nothing to do with transfering a phone number from one sim to another. Transfering your phone number requires you to contact the idiots at o2 that take your details and still fail to transfer your old number to your new sim because they are total idiots.

Well, we are all customers here. Having read through this thread all I can say is all the information you need is there.

We can not offer anything else.

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.

If you are moving your number from another supplier, then yes you will need to contact customer services to provide them with the information needed to process the move @Slayer1971uk

If you are moving from one customer type to another (between pay as you go and pay monthly) then you will also need to contact customer services as your account will need to be changed.

However. If all you are doing is moving your number from one sim to another of the same type - you can do it yourself! The sim packaging tells you how to do it, and if you don't have that then the guides that have been posted walk you through it was well.

Please note, this is not customer services and we cannot access your account. Do not publish personal details (email, phone number, bank account).

Link to our guide on how to contact them can be found here
