My wife is in need of a new phone and I am petitioning to humbly seek your knowledge...

The only constraints she has are as follows:

-decent(ish) camera [Probably 8MP or higher]

-not too big [Current phone is an Samsung A3 original]

-probably Android [Current phone is Android, she has a google account, etc, etc]

-not overly complicated

-not overly expensive

Normal use - browsing, games, calls & messages. Occasional picture taking.

Ones that are about the right price/spec point are the LG K8 (2017 version), Sony Xperia E5, Samsung Galaxy J3.

Currently with A.N.Other provider but open to change if price/coverage is ok.

Are there any other phones that she (I) should look at and who is good price wise?

I am Samsung all the way but I do hear very very good reports about the Sony Z5 @gmarkj

If it was bigger I would be very tempted. .....

Z5 compact if she doesn't want too big.
iPhone 6 for simplistic use.

Thanks all for the (as normal) speedy replies.
Out of interest, has anyone ever made (or is aware of) a list of which network locked phones work with which networks?
For instance, it is mentioned that Giff Gaff phones work with an o2 sim.
Has anyone ever seen or heard of anything like that?

giffgaff phones aren't locked so will work with any sim.

Usually the MVNO's will run on the parent phone but not necessarily vice versa.

I've never seen a list - it's just what I've learn't, tried or picked up that I have stored in the cavity where my brain should be wink

ok, so if I read that right:
An o2 locked phone will run a sim where the network uses o2 kit, such as giff gaff or Tesco.
An EE phone would work with a BT or Asda or Virgin Mobile sim.
