So I received a call today from o2 in regards to saving me money on my existing account and about products that where available to myself. I was told on the call that I could get a Samsung tablet at a reduced monthly amount so I went ahead an agree and arranged everything online. I have now not long since received a number of emails from o2 with all my new contract details but not for the tablet that I thought I was signing up for but for a apple 14 phone on a 36 month contract and a apple watch on a 47 month contract. I've also had an upfront payment of £30 taken from my account. I know this was not a scam and was a legitimate call from o2 due to text I received during the call, after the call and also emails I've received and the order is on my account. I think this is absolutely disgusting on o2's part 😡

@BennyB You have 14 days to change your mind: Returning your device | Help & Support | O2

If you think you’ve been the victim of fraud – whether it’s because you’ve given details to someone over the phone, or clicked on a link in a suspicious text or email there are things you can do:
Contact your bank if you think you may have given out financial information. They can help protect your account and stop transactions.
Change your account and online account passwords. Not just your O2 account. All of them.
Forward fraudulent texts to O2 for free on 7726.
Contact Action Fraud on 0300 123 2040.
Call your Virgin Media or O2 customer services number if you think somebody’s taken out a contract using your details.
Virgin Media customers can phone 150 from their landline or 0345 454 1111 from any other phone.
O2 customers can call 202 from their O2 phone or 0344 809 0202 from any other phone.

You can block the number that called you, or any number you think may be suspicious.

@BennyB

If you received a code via text during the call and gave it to the person calling you it is 100% a scam.

The scammers used the code to gain access to your account and order the phone.

Once delivered to you they will call you again and apologise for not sending you the tablet and say they sent the iPhone by mistake. They will give you a fake O2 address to return the phone to or send a fake courier to collect it and away they go with a phone that you will be left to pay for.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Thank you very much for your reply & help regarding this issue, so many scammers out there & never thought I'd be one that fell for it. The device will be returned to O2 directly by myself, not handed over to some random weirdo 👍🏽
