Had a scam text, purporting to be from O2, claiming they were having problems taking the direct debit for our bill. It asked for a response via text to sort it out. I deleted the text, but O2 would only contact you about such issues via the app or email. Be warned, ok.

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.

@Sb70

All the scammers do is get a spreadsheet with 10K lines, from 07000 000001 to 07000 010000 and send out a bulk text campaign, using either a PAYG sim or a 3rd party service.

Nothing o2 can do, and nothing to do with o2 security, just how scammers work... and they hope to get a hit rate return of about 20% of all texts sent...

If i was of the nefarious sort, it wouldnt take me long to setup a campaign to send out a text to every o2 number..
