What's the reason for this sequence of transactions needed to sign in to the Forum on laptop earlier, and just now to the web version of My O2 on mobile, @Dave-O2?

SMS lands, after a warning not to share the PIN that is about to arrive...

Same here, not had it..

But 2FA is a good thing, as people use the account for the forum, and there myo2 accounts..

So all in favour of 2FA

- Pixel 8 Pro - o2 and Vodafone UK

Had that trying to get into the Web Version of MyO2. Strangely, the Community is OK

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.

2FA is all well and good - but where I have to use an Incognito/InPrivate browser tab to sign-in to my MyO2, it just gets stuck in a loop - probably becuase after receiving and entering the 6-digit code, the cookie is not SAVED and the browser then asks you to enter your username and password again, resulting in another challenge, etc....  😮

@pgn

That is actually normal behaviour for some MFA services as when you enter the code it drops a sort of authentication (time limited) onto your device. It is similiar to a SAML token been issued, and if the site cant read it, then it will put it into a loop

The way I get round it is to use something like Brave or Opera that has a clear cookie option at close of the browser..

Using PC, I have logged onto forum twice today, without any of those security shenanigans @pgn 😂

However,  one thing I am noticing is the forum timing you out. At one time, I could have 8 forum tabs open and then clear off to shop online (for instance), come back and I'm still logged on to forum.

NOW, if I clear off for more than an hour, I find myself logged out! Very annoying.

This PC is mine and never used by any other family member, so I can't see the point of it logging me out!

Getting a tad fed up with all these annoying changes!

@Cleoriff I've been getting bounced off after an hour for months now. You're lucky it's taken this long for that to get to you.

When I tried logging in just now I got a warning message that they wanted to send me a text to a number I no longer have. I managed to log in anyway, but this may mean the end for me being able to get onto the community if that persists.

I DO NOT WORK FOR O2

What I find more annoying is the gung-ho approach, no indication on this, a Support Forum, of changes to the flow of things generally...

Then again, as I re-read that, I realise how far apart reality and my perception of it are 😎
