For those who may be a bit scared of the costs involved when using their phones abroad.

I haven't seen anything yet, but the new rules are supposed to come in today.

capping the data rate would be a welcome change.. at £3 - £6 per meg at the moment I tend to switch my phone off or set to airplane mode while abroad

Perhaps someone roaming at the moment has received an official text from O2 stating the new charges ?

Surely these are the new rates:

W. Europe

calling to the UK 35p within country 35p calling outside of zone 172p reciving a call 18p sending a text 11p sending a MMS 25p data £2.94 per, its jusrt that i noted the price of a text was 25p last night, I dont see any major changes other than text price and price to recive calls, other than that its a rip off still.

Lets face it if O2 had cut their prices they would of bee seling them from a great height the fact that no infomation about the great roaming cuts has been made tends to make me think there is none. Eveny the guys in the South of Ireland on talk202 forum the o2 offical fourm have been asking the emods on the fourm for a answer with dam all being said.

I got a text earlier today saying there were new roaming charges. Texts are indeed 11p to send but the main site has been down for most of the day but you can call 2266 free for information covering all countries,

Interesting, I'm roaming at the moment and have My Europe Extra. I've had no texts from O2.

The My Europe Extra prices were already within EU guidelines, I wonder if they've lowered the My Europe Extra prices further, or if I'm not just paying the same amount for the bolt on for less of a discount.
