I was due to leave O2 the other day in order to get a better deal on the iPhone X with Vodafone, however I am now more open minded about having a non-Apple phone and was happy to come around to staying with O2 if I could get a good deal on the OnePlus 5T.

I have spoken to numerous customer advisers both on the online chat and over the phone, and find that I'm getting very mixed messages about what is available to me. When I spoke to one adviser on the online chat they said that with a refresh contract the cost of my device overall across 24 months would be £408, however when I have spoken to the retentions department over the phone today they won't offer me a a contract which includes payments towards my device for less than around £480.

The actual phone costs £450 outright from the supplier or from an O2 store, so I'm confused as to why they won't offer me a better deal - it seems here that it is actually better to get a SIM only deal than it is to get a Refresh contract, as they want to charge for the financing of the phone? Has anyone managed to get a good deal on this phone? I'm quite annoyed about it as I feel I'm already compromising by not getting the iPhone X.

If you feel you are compromising, don't.
Get the iPhone or you will most likely regret it.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.
