New Contract - iPhone 5, 4G doesn't work

Anonymous

HI

I got a new contract without realising the 4g doesn't work on my iPhone5. How do I reverse this and go back to 3G. Can't contact anyone in customer service. Live chat is  busy.

Check your data apn.
If it says iData try changing it to mobile (leave the rest of it the same) or vice versa, so either idata.o2.co.uk or mobile.o2.co.uk
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

3G will still work so no need to change anything.
O2 are also rolling out 4G on 1800Mhz, so if you are in one of these areas you will get 4g anyway.

I don't understand this Rich. Shouldn't the apn be specific...not either this one or that one? Confused

Depends on the data package. The answer to the above will lead me to the next answer I give.
