Hi @adizzy63 and Welcome to the forum.

Have you checked your masts here to see if an issue exists

http://status.o2.co.uk/

Check the planned maintenance tab at the bottom of the status page too.

If it's showing as good then download the MYNETWORK APP to report the masts. Ask the others on O2 having the same issue to do so too.

It is a known remedy to have a sim swapped out if things are glitching ,and is worth considering which can be achieved by visiting an O2 shop and they'll sim swap for you. Takes from a few minutes to approx 24 hours to settle.

Lots of people are experiencing mast congestion at the moment as O2 upgrade their network which sadly you cannot resolve at your end by any tips.

Self help thread : http://community.o2.co.uk/t5/Pay-Monthly-and-Pay-Go/Self-help-guide-Is-the-network-down-for-me-or-ev...

If your having issues with call quality then in the interim turn off 3G in your phones settings so your phone uses 2G which is known to help stabilise call quality. The downside is any data speeds are slowed down.

If your pay monthly then consider using o2's Tugo which works on Wifi.

Whatsapp and Viber and Facebook are alternatives but do need the other parties to be using them.

We have been having major problems with sending texts and making calls in TN22 5NB area (Waldron and Heathfield in East Sussex) for past week. Frequently have no service at all and then when we do have service the texts come hours/days later often in middle of the night. What is going on? If you check the 02 service website it just says the same thing which is that the local mast is experiencing an unsually high level of demand...but its August and most people are away. What is going on? We need more information. I swapped to 02 this year because they promised better coverage which originally they had but now its useless.

Pls can someone from 02 explian what is going on and more importantly when it will be resolved - hours, days or what???

David.

In our experience we don't tend to get updates from O2.
It's likely that a mast has failed and that puts additional pressure on nearby masts - hence the sporadic service.
It's a case of hanging on I'm afraid but do feel free to report any issues to CS who will monitor reports received and feedback to the network team.

If you have a wifi connection available you can download the MY NETWORK app http://www.o2.co.uk/apps/my-network and use it to report the issue. We hear good reports of feedback from people using this app.
