How can it be so difficult?

I am an O2 customer with a pay monthly phone for my son. He has broken his phone including the sim card and sim holder so the phone is not usable.

 

I have tried to replace and upgrade the phone including paying the early change fee but you cannot process the order as you need a verification code which can only be sent to the broken phone and broken sim so you cant receive it. It cant be sent by another means or to another phone. They tried a QR code but that doesn't work either.

 

So now, its no phone today, no new phone tomorrow and no resolution. O2 is just a company of no's. How can this be so hard when they know everything about me yet 1 code and that's it 'computer is broken'

@Emac If you have the time, and have an O2 store nearby you could try upgrading there. Be sure to bring photo ID with you if you choose to do it that way.
