I have a new, refurbished phone, and have moved my o2 contract SIM to it, all works great. As this phone is Android Go, it has a restriction stopping a work time app from working. Therefore I have obtained an o2 PAYG SIM to put in the old phone for work. But, the performance is dire. Most apps and websites time out with very slow speeds. The phone shows a good 4g signal, but oh dear.....

What make and model is the "old" 'phone ? And precisely how "old" is "old" ?

These might help you :-

If your contract phone works well in the same location. Swap the SiMs over.

That will tell you if it is a SIM/ Account Problem or if it is the handset

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.

@andyh666555

Although you described it as your "old" 'phone, the Huawei Y5 is a 2019 handset and so still should be capable of giving good service.

Once you have tested it using the guides that I posted yesterday and the suggestions that @Enlli posted this morning, please let us know the outcome.
