Just in case anyone was interested, here is the list of devices that WILL receive Android Nougat:

#Sony Xperia Z3+
Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet,
Sony Xperia Z5,
Sony Xperia Z5 Compact,

Sony Xperia Z5 Premium,
# Sony Xperia X,
#Sony Xperia XA,
Sony Xperia XA Ultra
#Sony Xperia X Performance,
#Sony Xperia X Compact,
#Sony Xperia XZ.

Although it has been included far into Dev testing, sadly Xperia Z3 will not receive the update. This is due to stricter controls by Google at a hardware level and unfortunately Snapdragon 801 series is not supported.
Devices not receiving Nougat
Sony Xperia Z3
Sony Xperia Z3 Tablet
Xperia Z2
Xperia Tablet Z2

(Z1,Z series ended at lollipop)

@Chris_K would know.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)

The sound going back to normal, is purely because the device has recalibrate the speakers.
The battery going back to normal is because the system has been rewritten to include battery care and spends a few days using slightly more power whilst learning your usage pattern.
The latest update is incremental storage and a few bug fixes.
