unlocking iPhone handset

Anonymous
Not applicable

I recently paid out my contract and requested for my handset to be unlocked. It has been over 7 working days since this request was made and I have moved back to Sydney. I was told that I would receive an email when the handset was fuly unlocked.

How much longer will it take as I am getting annoyed that I am not able to use my Australian sim card in my iPhone!

Hi

If you are using an iPhone 5 upwards you no longer need to hook up to iTunes.

You need to insert another UK network SIM card to complete the unlock sequence.

And I'm pretty sure it needs to be connected to o2-uk to be unlocked. .

Connect to iTunes and see what happens as you have to unlock through that I'm pretty sure

It can take up to 4 weeks. That's how long I had to wait for. When you finally receive an email, that's what you have to do:

If you have a SIM card from a carrier that is different from your current carrier, and you've received confirmation from your current carrier that your iPhone is unlocked, follow these steps:

  1. Eject your SIM card and insert a new SIM card.
  2. Complete the setup process
