Still be charged for contract I've tried to end 3 times!!! O2 owe me over £200!!

I am STILL being charged for a sim only pay monthly contract which I have tried to end 3 TIMES over the phone with an O2 representative.

I have been assured every time, that I will no longer be charged,my contact has been terminated and I can claim the £200+ back for in inactive account dating back since last April!!!

But yet again,to no avail,I still haven't seen the £200+ and I've just received another email informing me of an unpaid bill and late payment fee due to me cancelling my direct debit...for a contract that's supposed to be have terminated!!!

This is ridiculous!!!

It is ridiculous @Anonymous You only need to give 30 days notice...though all balance should be paid off in full before your contract will end...this is why we recommend not cancelling direct debits until you show a zero balance via My O2

Ask for your PAC and transfer the number to another networks PAYG SIM card.
This will guarantee the o2 account closure.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Do you not need to inform in writing that you wish to end? 30 days notice and all that. Also, as @MI5 says, transfer your number will also guarantee cancellation.

The last thing anyone should do is cancel the DD as that will stop all payments and then O2 are known to smash your credit report within a month or two, and that can take years to repair.
