Only tried it as I do not have a need for unlock really but hope it help others
Just had mine on EE no iTunes required as again stated again in the email
Did mine by inserting an EE sim connected over wifi in the pub to activate job done no need for iTunes
Hi @adamtemp64, will do! I may need to ask for more info from you, but shall let you know if so.
Thanks for your feedback on this. As mentioned by the OP there are other ways that potentially work to start using a different SIM, however these are not tested or officially confirmed through Apple or ourselves.
We’d like to clarify that we still recommend using iTunes as only here will you see confirmation that your iPhone has been unlocked or not – resulting in a better experience since you’ll see if the unlock was successful or not. We also recommend the iTunes method as it will result in the best possible unlock experience and prevent you from needing to backup, restore, or set up the iPhone from scratch again. Though, we’d like to emphasise the importance in creating regular backups just in case something ever does go wrong.
The method outlined on the page above does work, though may require you to perform backups & restores, or set your iPhone up again. Hope this helps.
