Can i use my o2 plan on a sim free phone?

My smartphone has been damaged and it is not repairable, I have paid off my device plan but still have my monthly tariff.

If i buy a sim free smartphone and put my sim card into that, will i be able to use the tariff on there?

Thanks

Yes ....you can buy any unlocked phone and use the old sim in that . It will carry on with the tariff you currently have (as long as the sim isnt damaged.)

You will need to check what sim size is on the new phone otherwise you will have to complete the sim swap process..

Here if needed http://swapmysim.o2.co.uk/

Edited to add..if you have paid off your device you may want to take out a new contract...this is entirely up to you...

If you want to benefit from your 4g tariff you will need a 4g phone, but 3g will still work if the phone isn't 4g capable.
Any phone will do as long as it's unlocked or locked to o2 network.

Hi yeah if your buying a sim free phone you might benefit from upgrading your phone, remember your tariff is a older tariff also so it's worth discussing
