I bought a pay as you go sim , £10. I have not used any calls , I have not sent any texts as the phone was to be used for people contacting me. Why is my balance zero?

@Anonymous It sounds like you have a big bundle sim where the credit pays for inclusive allowances for you to use

Top up credit is exchanged for an allowance of calls, texts and data which last 30 days.
If you just want basic PAYG you need to log in your MyO2 http://www.o2.co.uk/myo2 and change your tariff to "simply pay as you go"
It will take effect once your current bundle has expired.

You have allowances for one month at which point you will have to top up again. Best option for you is to change tariff to one that allows you to keep your credit.

Simply payandgo will suit your needs...
