galaxy ace 2:cant access contacts

when i try to go into contacts on my samsung galaxy ace I get this message:

' the process android.process.acore has stopped unexpectedly' and the option to force close.

Help??

Normally a soft reset can help which is turning a phone off, remove battery if applicable and turn back on.



If no joy then perhaps a hard reset but make a back up first.

Go into settings >manage applications >contacts and clear cache & data.
Make sure you have an active contact sync profile in settings >accounts >google.

If I clear data, surely that will clear everything on my phone. How do I back it up before I do that?

If you use gmail then back up your contacts to that.

If you use a sd card put your pics etc to that.

Really we've not got much info to go on here - where do you store your contacts?
Phone, sim or Google account?
