Z1 annoying problem

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hi, My Sony Z1 experienced some sort of malfunction recently.

My app drawer contains generic app icons. I cannot delete them as the application canot be found message appears when I try. I cant even work out what apps have been corrupted.

Any ideas how to either - delete the icons and/or find out what apps they represent?

cheers

Only time I've seen this is when an sd card got corrupted and the apps were stored on that,
Either way, something is corrupt and it may require a factory repair via pc companion.

Back up, factory reset and just add the apps you want. All phones benefit from a factory reset to get the phone operating smoothly again at some stage. As @viridis suggests, it could well be an so card error.

Cheers Guys..I was hoping to fix it without a factory reset due to not being convinced my app data and purchases will be backed up/restored correctly. The phone is working, this problem is merely annoying rather than being a massive problem. Thanks anyway!

A repair through PCC won't delete anything.
