Xperia S Missing SMS Inbox entries

Anonymous
Not applicable

I've been having issues with SMS messages recently.  I noticed today that some conversations have disappeared from my inbox.  If I select that contact from my address book and then compose a new text message, the conversation history is all present and accounted for.  Also, if I compose a new message and add contacts affected by this bug to the recipients field, the conversation history is also loaded.  If I open the SMS app and try to access the conversation via my inbox, the conversation is not there.

My phone is not reporting received messages in contacts that are affected by this problem.  I sent a text to a contact that is affected by this bug by selecting compose new message and adding him as the recipient.  When the history was loaded there was a message there that arrived this morning that I had no prior knowledge of.  I did not get any unread message notifications or text alert tone.

Has anyone had the same problem on the Xperia S or any other Android Device?

Only thing I can think of is checking what you have set as the max number of entries per thread. Are these threads containing lots of messages?

I don't think it's a thread issue, unless there's a maximum number of threads allowed.  That particular discussion thread is not overly active, I don't text him or receive texts from him all that often.

Might be a case of backing up your messages and resetting your message app, or try Go SMS off Google play....
