I was reading about it on Sony and other forums, some sort of a bug going around

many Sony phones not charging

solutions: to restart the phone before connecting to the charger

to leave it plugged in and it should start charging after 30 mins

might work if the port is not faulty

Hi

the charging port might be faulty.

Can you restart the phone and connect again to the charger to see if that helps?

Check the charging port for dust or fluff.

Failing that a pin may be bent in the port and not connecting, an O2 shop could check it for you and arrange a repair if required.

If it's faulty I would demand a replacement as you've had it less than a month I wouldn't accept a repair

There is a 14 day return policy.

Since the OP had the phone for over 14 days, O2 would send it off to be repaired.

If the OP is still having the same issue, I would contact Sony directly before O2.

If it's user damaged it won't be covered by warranty or returns policy anyway.

Yep good find.... I was really commenting about the comments that suggested getting a new phone etc which won't happen if it's due to the charger been forced in the wrong way round and damaging the port.

I understand that

Let's just hope it is in fact the bug, otherwise the repair might be pricey...
