Sony D6503 Battery life

Since latest software upgrade last week my phone has a much reduced battery life. I can now only use it for part of the day without re-charging. It used to last several days. Is this a known problem or a fault with my phone. It was new in April 2014.

Remove the last Gpservices update and then re update it

What does it say is using most of the battery charge?
You can look in settings, battery, then click usage.
If it says media server is using loads, you need to take the sd card out and reinsert it.

It says Google Play services is using 29%. The next highest use is the screen at 9%, then Android OS at 4%.
