Sending Text Messages

Just joined O2 with pay as u go. Can make and receive calls and receive texts but cannot send anyessages. Just get the spinning "sending". Help please.

Hi @Anonymous What sort of phone do you have?

Check you have the correct message centre number for PAYG

Open messages, settings and type in the message centre number :
Pay & Go       +447802092035

You could also take the sim out, gently clean, reinsert and reboot the phone

I would also check your network status http://status.o2.co.uk/  (though if everything else is working you should be fine

Thanx Cleoriff...have a LGP880...old but good backup. Not clear where you type the message number in. Have android 4.1

Hi @Anonymous

Go into text messages... then settings.. scroll down to text messages. click on that and the message centre number will be displayed there. If it's not as stated as above then you can change it manually ..

The message centre number is picked up off the sim so if you have the right sim the number will be correct.
How new is the sim?
If just activated give it 24 hours to settle down.
