S4 not holding charge

Hi My Samsung S4 wont hold its charge some days i have to recharge 3-4 times a day, and thats not using it. Other times it will last all day and hold its charge, It also gets very hot, i have spoken to o2 and been told there is nothing wrong with my phone,  can anyone help??

Something is running the processor at full blast, that's why it's getting hot.
Have a look in the settings menu under battery usage and see what is using the most battery as a first step.
Prob a rogue app or that it needs a reset.

It certainly sounds like an app.

Have you downloaded anything recently that coincides with the problem or installed any battery saving apps?

Could it just be that the battery needs replacing?

If it wasn't getting hot too, maybe.....
