I cannot seem to send a photo with an text message. This has been happening for some time. Is it something like I may have to join WhatsApp, which I don't really wish to do.

Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

If you are sending pictures by text (MMS ot Picture Messaging) then there is a charge, so if your spend cap is zero or too low they won't go.

If you don't want to use WhatsApp then Google Chat (Messages) I'd a way forward providing you have it activated, same goes for the receiver.

Because no one can send a photo in a text message, hence TEXT message.

@RunrigForever

If you are talking about an occasional photograph, another alternative would be to attach it to an e-mail. You will typically get away with sending four or five photographs attached to one e-mail as e-mail providers typically have an attachment limit of around 10Mb or a little bit more.

Thank you @Oxonian

I understand what you have said and have offered me an alternative method.

I only have a few friends and family email addresses.

My son sent me a photo of his cat Juno and I wanted to send it to another member of my family ... and ... that's where I have problems.

Now ... if my son can send me a photo via text message - Why can't I ?

I have no compunction in admitting I consider myself somewhat a permanent tech novice ... but ... IT has long since got away from me ..... anyone remember 'Wordperfect' ?
