Moto X ~ email question.

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hi.

As some of you know I'm trialing the Moto X for o2.

When I'm receiving incoming e mails the link I would normally press within the e mail body to take me to the post on a forum is not highlighted.

I use BT Yahoo.

Firmware is Android 4.4

I've checked again on my iPhone 5s and the same e mail that goes to it has the highlighted links.

Any ideas.

Don't know

Update ;

Yahoo Mail App downloaded from GooglePlay and the links are now highlighted from all sources this way.

Stock Mail App must be at issue / conflict with emails from certain places.

A shame really for my personal use as I wanted to use the out of the box apps.

Sounds like a security setting to prevent the user from clicking on dodgy links from phising type emails......

Is this via an app or the stock email?

Hi @jonsie

Its been the stock email I've been using.

I've not tried a 3rd party one yet as really this should work out of the box ~  hopefully.

I think @MI5 is right that it's a security measure. Is there nothing to enable links in the settings?

The Sony Z Ultra that I'm trialling shows clickable links in the stock app.

Google suggests that it will only work if:
a) HTML is enabled in email client settings,
b) the email client supports HTML

Hi @Cleoriff and Good Morning,

At present no unfortunately. 😞

I've been searching within the Moto X settings and going through my Yahoo Mail Settings.

When I receive an email from the O2 forum the links are lit up and navigate straight to the post on the Moto X.

Many others are the same.

However when I receive an email from t'other forum they are not. The links are not highlighted.

I cannot see anything that's standing out within my settings highlighting the other forum as any issue.

When I receive the same email on my iPhone 5s the links are highlighted.

So process of elimination I think is the Moto X phones settings somewhere.

A conundrum wink

@Anonymous  Of course my interest was specifically based round the fact this was an EMAIL problem which we have experienced issues with in the past.....

I didn't realise it was just some emails

Lets hope @MI5  can give further help to solve this problem.....
