You need to clear out the apps you don't use, or stop them running constantly.

Clear cache and cookies from the phone.

Also try turning it off at night if you can.

Edited to add, you may need to get a new battery fitted.

Usually means something is stuck trying to sync or the processor is running flat out. 
Email apps are a common issue so check if all syncs are complete or if some are running constantly.
