Android 5.02 upgrade on LG-D620 issues connecting to data

Hi there!

My LG2 Mini prompted me to update the android IOS (5.02) which is now installed, but besides slowing my phone I am no longer able to connect to mobile data so can only access the web/ whatsapp etc. when I am on wifi and I keep receiving an error message which appears 'Currently unable to download. Please try again later' and I have no idea why.

I turn on the mobile data and happily shows 'Data connection allowed' but the usual H or 4G icon showing data network access does not appear in the top right corner. I do have mobile signal and can makes calls and receive texts.

About my phone:

Hardware > LG-D620

Software > Android 5.02

Kernel version > 3.4.0+

(There is also baseband version, build number and software version?)

Network > 'Mobile network state' says 'Disconnected' and 'IP Address' says 'Unavailable' - these don't seem like good things to me?

Can anyone please suggest a fix or let me know which settings might have changed with the update?

Thanks so much!

First text the word "active" to 2020 and save the settings you get back.
If 2020 doesn't work check the apn manually.
If all this fails, back up phone and factory reset it.

Hi!

Certainly - I sent 'ACTIVE' to 2020, a message came back with settings (Prepay > APN / Browser / MMS) and a button to automatically install. I selected 'Install' and that seemed to fix the issue. It had to do with my prepay mms and WAP settings under the APN settings (not sure what that means though, sorry!).

Now I can connect to data again, the little 4G simple pops up in the corner. Yay!

Thanks!
Tarryn
