You can pay by credit card as well, When you get your bill via email go
into the Myo2 app or in the my account section/my bill part of o2.co.uk
and it'll give you the option to pay via credit card.

They've moved to BACS payments rather than faster payments they used to
do. So it's three working days after you get your email confirming your
handset has passed their checks.
O2 used to have a problem with Monzo Direct Debits several years ago but
apparently it was fixed, perhaps it has re-emerged. There's several
major companies who still have issues with Monzo DDs.
