Upgraded phone with new O2 sim..but wanted to keep same number ? but no connection?

I have upgraded my A20e for a A 22 5gb...was told to take the new sim card and put it in...which I have done ..but I still cannot make or receive phone calls? Can somr one help me please ? thankyou
