Having same issue. Apple Watch series 5, iPhone X. Originally (10 days
ago) was getting code 44. Phoned up and they eventually reset something.
Had a text yesterday (more than 24 hours ago) saying they have sorted
it. Then got error code 44 just once...
I've had the same problem for 48 hours. Apple Watch series 5. Been in
touch with customer service who say it could be 5 days from yesterday
before they fix it - so have to wait, and I suspect I'll have to get
onto them and start from scratch in 5 day...
