Ok thanks for that. I have backed upto Kies. I have also tried a few
other suggestions from other people which seem to have made a bit of
difference. If they do not work completely I will carry on with your
solution.

I have seen this advice but it requires you to be connected to the wifi
network to carry it out. The issue is that the phone does not connect to
the wifi network - hence the message "network disabled because internet
