Hey everyone,
Unless you're very new to the community you've likely noticed a few changes to how the forum looks this morning. As we announced yesterday the O2 community has been upgraded! In addition to the new look there are several new features, some requested and a few new ones for good measure. 😄
New home page
Starting at the top we have a new integrated header for the community. The new header contains some useful links. On the left side you have a link to the main O2 site.
You then have links to the O2 shop page > O2 help and support page > My O2 and your shop basket.
On the right of these links you will see your community notifications > private messages and your profile picture.
Clicking on your profile picture will bring up a drop down menu which contains the following...
Directly below the header you will find the new community navigation! The community categories are listed here and if you hover over you will see a drop down of the different boards.
The next level down is the community search bar and your latests stats and notifications!
Below this is our new featured content widget. This is similar to Latest News section on the old home page but is in a much more prominent place than before.
Next is the new trending topics section which is a live feed of the most popular conversations happening in real time!
Below to trending topics you will see the familiar Community Activity where you can see the latest topics and filter them by most recent > most viewed > most commented and most liked.
Down at the bottom of the home page you will see a feed that highlights the most recent guides and reviews. If you hit the View All button it will take you to the guides and reviews category.
Finally the familiar community stats can be found at the very bottom of the page.
New private messaging interface
We also have a brand new private message system which will display your message conversations in a threaded view so no more going back and forth between your inbox and outbox. Please note: Only messages exchanged after the upgrade goes live will be in the threaded view.
Solution highlight
The next new feature to talk about is floated solutions. When a solution is picked on a thread it will be highlighted at the top of the discussion for easy viewing. The solution will still be in it's proper position down the chain of messages.
The new version has an updated text editor box for topics, replies and private messages.
Please have a good look around the new community and let us know any feedback, questions or issues in the comments below!

The Forum and the main O2 site have the odd bout of fisticuffs, methinks.
If I log into Forum first, logging into O2 works, *except* for the Billing Detail/History section, which barfs with a well-known error.
Conversely, recently only, logging into the main O2 site first means logging into the Forum fails with the errors shown in posts above.
Only solution? Log out of O2 forum, zap cookies (I have Chrome on PC set to zap only O2-related cookies on browser exit, tip available for a fee if you can't find where I've hidden that nugget here on the Forum 😆), and begin again with fresh login to the Forum first.
The joys... 😉

@Martin-O2 I didn't want to start a new thread for this but have a query about moderators.
1) How many are there nowadays and are they meant to be on 24/7?
2) Do the managers take on a moderation role when we use the report function in the drop down menu?
Note I've asked those questions before I come to the point of my post.
As someone who usually reads every unread post, I notice when new members post in the wrong section, meaning Off Topic and Discussions and Feedback. If the question asked is solvable, I ALWAYS report it via the report function on the post in question. (I do this whether the post is being answered by me or anyone else)
I ask for the post to be moved to the relevant section on the forum.
I've noticed a lot of these requests are being ignored (Please do NOT ask me to make a list as this has been going on since the new forum format changed)
If we report a post which contains personal info, these are amended quickly enough.
If honest I've been here a lot longer than some of the moderators, so I know without a doubt, when a post should be moved. I get a bit miffed when they aren't. Not only are they in the wrong section but people are missing a solution when they aren't moved.
So in an effort to be generous, let me ask if these requests for posts to be moved are missed or now classed as unimportant?
Your answer will be a deciding factor on whether I will bother to report posts in the wrong section again. Thanks.

@Cleoriff our moderation team cover the out of office ours for us, so that's evenings and weekends. During office ours the community managers deal with the content reports.
Apologies if any of these reports have been missed. Please do continue to report any topics that are in the wrong place and I'll have a chat with the moderation team when we next speak to make sure that we are aligned on which topics need to be moved. 🙂

Thanks for your answer Martin. I didn't realise our mods didn't work during the day!
I'll certainly continue to report posts which are in the wrong place.

When are the mobile format functions going to be fixed?
Can't add a YouTube vid or hide a URL within some text without fiddling with browser settings, driving me nuts...
Come on, basic functions, not premium features, people! 😡

Ah well, as you've started it @pgn ...I'll go for the PC issues STILL not fixed.
1) Own posts appearing as unread UNLESS the page of the post is refreshed
2) All long running topics taking you to the FIRST post instead of the last one posted (unless you are responding to an email.
3) I understood that @Martin-O2 could add the favourite (now missing) emoji's. Thread here EMOJI's
4) Finally a decision was to be made about spellcheck function. I prefer we stay with the new one we have now where red lines appear underneath a misspelt word. Only downside is it's US English 😂

I agree with the comments by @pgn and @Cleoriff
Despite you having ticketing the platform provider team, issues still remain unresolved - over TWO MONTHS after the New Look was dropped on us.
To add to the issue regarding Emojis.
If I copy and paste any text containing the new emojis, it enlarges the size of the emoji and breaks the run of text so emoji is on a separate line - for example, when I give the answers to WRQ
Q1 correct - awarded
Q2 correct - awarded
Q3 correct - awarded
The only way round this is to manually type the text [rather than copy and paste] and to insert the emoji for each and every place needed, which is time consuming - given that there can be up to 10 people taking part in WRQ each with up to 8 answers - so I have to insert up to 80 emojis !!! That is no joke...
Please get it fixed.

Yes @Mi-Amigo inserting our old emojis into any thread creates problems as they drop down to the page below and can't be moved back. This is why I've stopped using the welcome emoji on the welcome to new members thread. If the old ones were part of a community package inserted into the new emoji box, then we wouldn't have this issue,
Sadly I'm finding the old emoji's we collected on your thread are now losing clarity and crispness.

Precisely @Cleoriff
I`ve been using the Welcome emoji in the Welcome To The Community thread as I have done before the New Look but even using the emojis off the Emjois thread, the Welcome emoji is faded and blurred...
A warm
Something else to add to the "Get it fixed" files...
