Hey all,

We see some of you have already spotted this but we wanted to confirm that the TU Go app & service will be ending on 30th November. We’ll be notifying all customers that have the TU Go app about this from today, Tuesday 17th October, through to Friday 20th October.

While TU Go is ending, we’re continuing to offer alternative calling options for our customers. More information can be found here. As VoWifi (Voice over Wifi, part of our Wifi and 4G calling capabilities) continues to develop, we’re working with our vendors to expand the selection of handsets that we offer with Wifi and 4G calling capabilities. A full list of currently supported devices can be found here, where we will also add future devices when they’re available.

If the device you’re currently using doesn’t support Wifi and 4G calling, you can check the My O2 app or get in touch with our customer service team (202 from an O2 Pay Monthly mobile, 8002 from O2 Business mobile) to see what upgrade options are available to you.

We recommend that all TU Go users make copies of any stored messages or images that they have saved on the TU Go app, as the app won’t be accessible from 1 December.

A thank you
We know that some of our O2 Community members helped test the TU Go app during beta trials and provided varied and fantastic feedback which helped our team shape the app, add new features and fix any bugs. We hope you’ve enjoyed using TU Go, and again want to thank anyone from the O2 Community that helped us.

More information on the closure of TU Go can be found here: https://www.o2.co.uk/apps/tu-go

Get ready for an extra bolt on for a fiver or tenner a month so that o2 can supply us all with a boost box at home. Now there's an extra earner for them and can be used as a replacement for TU as an inducement to join or stay with O2!

Maybe I'll post it on the ideas section....could get quite a hefty reward from o2....whadya think guys?

How about Tu for a fiver a month?
I'd support that idea wink

Yep, well worth a fiver a month to me and if it's all about the money then that should solve all the problems O2 are having.

I wonder how many of O2's customers use Tugo?
As a conservative guess I'll say 2.5 million, so at £5 a month that's £150 million a year income - now that deserves a prize slight_smile

Count me in for a fiver a month. See this is what I mean about research. Had O2 given people the choice of losing Tu or paying a subscription to keep it...there would be no prizes awarded for guessing what option the majority would choose.

I'm not sure how o2 can turn down 150 mil a year - how do we get this idea to someone sensible enough to think about it?

So in the absence of TuGo and any sort of phone signal indoors the options are wait 10 hrs for an sms message to arrive, throw your new non-compliant phone in the can, use a land line (if you have one ) or  upgrade.

Simples - O2 you really are going to loose out here - simples.

I'm not going to jump through hoops to stay with O2.  Both EE and 3 offer wifi calling that includes texts, and works on a iPhone 5S.  Luckily I'm on a 1 month contract, so I intend to end that at the end of the month.

O2 have just lost two more contract customers in our house.
Only reason for keeping a contract while based overseas is TUGo.
May as well port to a cheap prepay network for use when visiting the UK
