Hey all,

We see some of you have already spotted this but we wanted to confirm that the TU Go app & service will be ending on 30th November. We’ll be notifying all customers that have the TU Go app about this from today, Tuesday 17th October, through to Friday 20th October.

While TU Go is ending, we’re continuing to offer alternative calling options for our customers. More information can be found here. As VoWifi (Voice over Wifi, part of our Wifi and 4G calling capabilities) continues to develop, we’re working with our vendors to expand the selection of handsets that we offer with Wifi and 4G calling capabilities. A full list of currently supported devices can be found here, where we will also add future devices when they’re available.

If the device you’re currently using doesn’t support Wifi and 4G calling, you can check the My O2 app or get in touch with our customer service team (202 from an O2 Pay Monthly mobile, 8002 from O2 Business mobile) to see what upgrade options are available to you.

We recommend that all TU Go users make copies of any stored messages or images that they have saved on the TU Go app, as the app won’t be accessible from 1 December.

A thank you
We know that some of our O2 Community members helped test the TU Go app during beta trials and provided varied and fantastic feedback which helped our team shape the app, add new features and fix any bugs. We hope you’ve enjoyed using TU Go, and again want to thank anyone from the O2 Community that helped us.

More information on the closure of TU Go can be found here: https://www.o2.co.uk/apps/tu-go

If you use 3 in touch abroad from a country which is not "feel at home", does that get charged as if aborad, or as if in the UK?

This is essentially the only reason for hanging onto O2 as I need it for work where there is no reception to get texts which otherwise come through at 5am more than 12hrs after they we're sent as sms!

Most won't have access to Wifi calling because their handsets won't be eligible or like myself haven't bought it directly from O2.
Looking at the O2 website shop there are a lot of handsets which aren't eligible. Even their top sellers such as the Oneplus.

Why not just have wifi calling and the app like 3 do (which at the moment looks like the best option). Surely this is the most sensible option to allow everyone access to the service.

I'd even be willing to pay extra for TU go!
I'm just glad I'm on a rolling contract and can leave immediately. Feel sorry for those just signed up to long contract without an eligible handset.

We have no idea yet.
I'm going to try it abroad next week, if I can get it working from abroad.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

I stayed with O2 because TuGo made it superior to all the other networks.

Can't believe they are taking it away. What a joke. thumbsdown

I will be moving away from O2 next month when my contract expires.

I have 4 O2 contracts for the family and we all use TuGo especially when we are in the USA as it means we can call Home without any extortionate charges and we can all pick up messages when we have no mobile signal.
Your WiFi/4G Option does not apply to calls made while overseas so we would be charged International rates.

Looks like all 4 contracts are going to be moved to an alternative network unless I can find another free way to call home from USA etc.
The TuGo feature was one of the main reasons we stayed with O2. I have been with O2 since the start.
Really disappointed with this decision.

I can only but echo others disappointment at this very poor decision.  TuGo was the main reason I didn't choose a cheaper contract elsewhere previously, and why I made the decision to renew my contact with o2 earlier this month, even though I could get a better price elsewhere for the minutes/text/data I want. I'm seriously re-evaluating whether to cancel my recent upgrade and move elsewhere.

I would beg you to reconsider this.  @Chris_K, I hope you feed back to your management how strongly your customers feel about this, and how irresponsible it is to allow your partners like CPW continue to advertise Tu as a key differentiator of the o2 network.

TuGo was the only reason I was staying with O2. Already fed up with my phone showing 5 bars of 4G signal but being unable to make or receive calls and unable to use internet at all because the network is busy. I was only putting up with that because TuGo was so useful.

Most of it I would guess.
