Hey all,

We see some of you have already spotted this but we wanted to confirm that the TU Go app & service will be ending on 30th November. We’ll be notifying all customers that have the TU Go app about this from today, Tuesday 17th October, through to Friday 20th October.

While TU Go is ending, we’re continuing to offer alternative calling options for our customers. More information can be found here. As VoWifi (Voice over Wifi, part of our Wifi and 4G calling capabilities) continues to develop, we’re working with our vendors to expand the selection of handsets that we offer with Wifi and 4G calling capabilities. A full list of currently supported devices can be found here, where we will also add future devices when they’re available.

If the device you’re currently using doesn’t support Wifi and 4G calling, you can check the My O2 app or get in touch with our customer service team (202 from an O2 Pay Monthly mobile, 8002 from O2 Business mobile) to see what upgrade options are available to you.

We recommend that all TU Go users make copies of any stored messages or images that they have saved on the TU Go app, as the app won’t be accessible from 1 December.

A thank you
We know that some of our O2 Community members helped test the TU Go app during beta trials and provided varied and fantastic feedback which helped our team shape the app, add new features and fix any bugs. We hope you’ve enjoyed using TU Go, and again want to thank anyone from the O2 Community that helped us.

More information on the closure of TU Go can be found here: https://www.o2.co.uk/apps/tu-go

Mightytext might work for you.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

@Chris_K BAD O2...

I do have a phone that will support WiFi calling but that is NOT the Point. Many others do not.

I have a long term outstanding fault (since August) with coverage in my area and I have been relying on TuGo to send and receive texts. I was advised that this was the best solution until it is fixed.

If you are going to kill TuGo then many people will vote with their feet.

YOU MUST PROVIDE.....a TEXT via WiFi app which does not rely on the receiving party requiring a specialist app their end.

This hasn't bee thought through. I guess you will have to waive the remainder of peoples contracts because of removal of features which existed when they renewed or started contracts.

In a word - disgusted.

Coverage at my property is okay but at work is non-existant so I rely on TU to keep me in touch.  As a good 8 hours of my day is spent in the office, you are now denying me a service for a third of the day.

Please reverse your decision or advise me how I can claim a one third reduction in my contract as you are no longer providing a service you advertised.

Unhappy about this as TU is one of the reasons I renewed with o2 the last time. The signal here is such rubbish (4 G - what 4G) that the only way often to use my mobile at home is using TU and it seems that the replacement - whatever that is - won't work for my Sony Xperia Compact X phone. Will definitely be changing providers when contract finishes.

You can only forward them to yourself.
I’ve done that and backed them up with sms backup+

The only way we know at the moment is to email them to yourself. I've been using TU since it's inception many years ago and have thousands of texts and dozens of voicemails. If anyone finds an app capable of downloading everything please share maybe in a separate thread.

I think we are owed an explanation and an apology so can you ask those in charge of making such stupid and ridiculous decisions to answer the many thousands of angry customers @MercedesS

There are many threads on here now from like-minded customers. In fact there are now more posts about this than the new iPhone. Just goes to show the depth of feeling and anger...

Is this a joke o2? I rely on tugo as have no signal most of the day. I never recieve texts to my phone they all come through the tu go app.. if you remove the app i am not going to recieve texts.. i am stuck with u for another year but definitely wont be renewing my contract next yr. Please rethink this or find an alternative for texts.
