Have you tried playing dumb?
Just contact O2 say you ordered a 4g Tablet and got sent a wifi only? Don't mention the offer or anything, see if they can arrange an exchange?

It seems like it's a really random way of doing it as I preordered the phone on 12th April but didn't apply for the tablet until 6th of May as I wasn't sure whether it was going to be worth the hassle. I'm not sure whether being a bit of a pain online pushed me up the queue or whether they are giving me the 4G one just to shut me up!

Wonder if @Chris_K or O2s sudden statement has anything to do with watch dog asking for more info. Maybe they have contacted O2 and suddenly they are interested.
In any case ALL (that's not just an isolated case) tablets are processed out of order and I got a 4g tablet eve after many others said they submitted to Sony because I got a tip off. From my private messages too, looks like O2 have closed off that route after the first 10. Not the way it should be.
Neither myself nor any of the teams I've been in discussion with to obtain updates are aware of anything to do with Watchdog. I have been here from the beginning of the thread, doing all I could to answer everyones queries and concerns - I appreciate completely that the info I had may not have been enough, but I hope with the new update I posted last night, it helps restore a bit of faith and paint a picture of where we're at with the process.
@Chris_K Thanks for that info but it still leaves me in limbo, I have received both texts from O2 yet when i call up customer services they say they haven't received any claim. I have sent the email that the other users have suggested but no reply. UK customer services have told me to re-apply but all I have is the confirmation screenshot and nothing on any of my accounts and once again no one at O2 thinks I have made a claim!
Our customer services are unlikely to have information on your claim, as these are being validated and the tablet being ordered by a specialised team, not working within customer services. This team is solely responsible for validating the claims and organising the order. If you've had your texts, there's no need to re-apply with the claim form. Our team still have many orders to fulfil and once they get to yours, you'll be sent further information updating you. I know you're concerned but there's no need to worry about this - our team just haven't gotten to your specific order yet, but it should happen over the next two weeks, hopefully sooner!
I still dont understand this 28 days delivery thing that O2 are messing with.
The terms quite clearly state in section 5:
"your Sony Tablet Z will be delivered within 28 days of receipt of your claim."
Sony have confirmed to me that when we fill in the form, it is immediately sent to O2 for processing.
For those who ordered on the the 1'st of May like myself, we should have the tablet delivered no later than TODAY.
Hi Andrew. If you submitted your claim on 1st May, this isn't actually your receipt of the claim but merely the submission of it. The receipt of your claim would have come from the 14th May after our team started the validations - you should have received a text at some point over the last fortnight which would have essentially been your receipt.
We're unable to access your account from the O2 Community.
