Guys, the highly anticipated Sony Xperia 1 II will be available on O2. We have seen a few posts on here asking for the launch. The new Sony Xperia 1 II is built for speed, it has a powerful Snapdragon 865 processor and unbelievably quick camera autofocus. Plus, it’s ready for the 5th Generation with O2 5G.

But let’s see some more details why we and a lot of people on here were waiting for the Xperia 1 II …

Focus faster

The Xperia 1 II can capture things that were previously impossible on a smartphone. Developed with Sony’s Alpha camera engineers and built with Zeiss optics, the 12MP triple-lens system has up to 20fps continuous burst shooting, complete with autofocus and auto-exposure. You’ll never miss the moment.

Sounds incredible

It’s a well-known fact that Sony’s audio experts are among the best in the world – and they’ve had their hands on the Xperia 1 II. Enjoy cinema-quality Dolby Atmos sound when you’re watching a movie, and hear music in a new way with 360 Reality Audio, which is tuned in collaboration with Sony Music Entertainment.

A movie screen in your hand

If anyone knows screen technology, it’s Sony. The Xperia 1 II uses Sony’s Bravia HDR engine to bring you unrivalled clarity and detail. The 21:9 CinemaWide OLED display brings you movies in stunning cinema quality thanks to new motion blur reduction technology, and with 4K and HDR, you’ll see them exactly how they were made to be viewed.

And… if you pre-Order now you can claim a free pair of headphones worth £329.

PLEASE NOTE: Our pre-order promotion has been so popular that we have nearly sold out of our allocation of 1,750 Sony WH1000XM3 headphones. So any customer who pre-orders this device from us tomorrow morning aren't disappointed, from approx. 8am Tue 9 June 2020 we will change the offer to Sony WH910 headphones. More info.

Hi @Pete58 I have just had news from Sony UK that the handset will be available to order directly from their estorepartner from Friday. There is a link on the where to buy page that has appeared for virgin mobile, so it's looking like the end of this week. O2 haven't given any firm indication other than its coming soon.

@Pete58 Yeah Virgin seem to be offering headphones too, however as you say it's pay monthly only. Sony UK stated they were not offering anything with the handset, I know in the EU they have been giving away the bluetooth set. Hopefully O2 will shed some light by the end of the week as looking at other retailers like clove.co.uk, morecomputers.com, etc the handset does seem to have made it into the country.

@Pete58
The phone is now available with delivery tomorrow on giffgaff. It's an unlocked handset only downside is having to pay £10 for the sim which can just be binned afterwards I guess. Probably more reputable to buy from there after all giffgaff is owned by o2. Can't understand why o2 can't just tell us when it's available even if it's just an estimate when other retailers have now made it available. May just have to buy it from giffgaff.

Latest info I have is it'll be launching week commencing 15 June, though I need to highlight that until stock arrives into our distribution network and is 'delivery ready', this is subject to change. I know there's a few of you really keen to get this device ASAP so I want to avoid any potential disappointment, while giving as much info I'm able to.

If you're waiting until Tuesday, then right now that's looking like a good day to hold out until... Hopefully there'll be more to share then.
