Shared data plans are now here!

We've seen several people here on the community ask about it and we know from our other social media channels like Twitter & Facebook, that there customers who would love to be able to share their data allowances across multiple O2 SIM's, phones or tablets. Well now, you can!

With data allowances from 1GB up to 20GB, and with the ability to share data with up to 10 devices, you can customise your sharer plans to suit your family.

How can I get it?
To get a sharer plan, you’ll need a phone or tablet on an O2 Refresh tariff with 1GB or more of data. This will be your lead device. It doesn’t have to be on a new contract – just give us a call or come and see us in store to share your current data allowance. You'll soon be able to do this online via My O2 too - we'll let you know when.

Once you’ve got your lead device, you can then add up to nine other phones, tablets or sims to share its data allowance. If you already have additional devices that you want to add to a sharer plan, you can add them as soon as they’re out of contract.

To find out more, speak to an advisor in your local O2 store.

You can find out more here including how the sharer plans work and how best to manage your data > http://www.o2.co.uk/sharer-plans

Depends which plan. The most is extra £6 a month I think. Your options well be detailed in your My o2.

Popped into O2 shop at weekend and got a couple of answers to my questions.
So I have already taken out a new plan picking a Sony experia z3 compact with
8GB data
4G ready
Unlimited texts
Unlimited minutes
£0.00
upfront
£43.00
a month

So for me to share the data as a family sharer would be £15 for unlimted texts and calls and to share the 8 gb data.
If I went for another z3 compact it would cost £20 up front and 15 pound a month.
So really to have the two phones unlimted calls and text and to share the data will cost me £73 a month. £36.50 for unlimted calls/texts and 4gb of data for each phone

I understand the requirement for the lead phone.  However, I can't find details of which plans are eligible to share the data with the lead phone.  Where is this information posted on the O2 website??

My lead phone has now been set up to share data.    My child was on a Pay & Go plan and I switched over to a Pay Monthly plan specifically to be able to share data, he is now on a £15.00 pay monthly 30 day tariff - O2 Simplicity 500 30D 500MB 4G - but for some reason he is not able to share data.

Please can you clarify why we cannot share data with the lead phone and please can you direct me to where the information for the sharer phone requirements is on the O2 website.

Thank you.

And as usual o2 make life difficult.

As I am not currently on refresh sharer plan does not show in myo2. So where do I go to find it about prices online? I can't.

How to shoot yourselves in the foot o2 yet again. Why can't you make things simple and straight forward?
