I've created a Gmail account as well, 10GB puts Sky's/o2's 20meg (after the broadband transfer) right to shame doesn't it! Will soon start transferring all my contacts soon to my Gmail account.

The O2 email will remain O2 email AIUI, but revert to the standard 20MB. I've used Gmail to pick up my o2 mail from when they use to have exchange active sync available in order to get push email. Sadly Gmail has stopped EAS.
It won't affect my O2 email as I only have the standard mailbox anyway. The O2 BB is on a different account to my Phone and legacy genie account and it causes problems if I try to link them for the user of the O2BB and my other accounts and more problems unlinking them.

I have had an email to say that my mailbox, at 42 MB, is over its storage quota. "Your mailbox is full! It is currently over its allowed capacity.Your mailbox allowance is 20Mb unless you have O2 broadband, so it's just returned to normal.
I HAVE O2 broadband. What I don't have is Sky broadband. I'm still paying for broadband service delivered to my o2 phone and an o2 sim card in my iPad.
I've spent far too long trying to get a response from the web chat perople and the o2 gurus - only to be told this evening that I need to phone! Try getting through on a phone line to o2 these days - I was hanging on the line for 40 minutes last night before I went over the closing time and got disconnected.
Having been one of my favourite companies to deal with (and i'm a lot closer to retirement age than I am to school age) O2 is sliding rapidly off the scale.

But you have to put up with all the cr@ppy adverts on google. I've had gmail account for years only use it in absolute emergencies because it is such a pain fighting through the ads.
begs the question though if google can give away so much storage why can't O2 give a reasonable amount to its paying customers.

What cr@ppy adverts on Google? I've had a Gmail account for years and any adverts I see are hardly in my face and I never need to fight through them to get to my inbox.
Regarding paying customers, O2 has always provided a basic email service for free. The only customers who got more were the ones paying for home broadband and that was part of the package.
If you are that concerned about storage limits and ads, I suggest you purchase your own domain with an email package. I pay ~£14 per year for mine and changing ISPs will never be a problem.

@When moved to Sky Broadband, the new @Anonymous.com addresses will have unlimited storage (but I'd still recommend Gmail instead).
