Hogfather, by Terry Pratchett, is a favourite in our house.

Not keen on Die Hard as a Christmas movie...

Towering Inferno is my all time favourite but the Polar Express is also up there on the list.

Die Hard takes place at Christmas, but is not a Christmas movie in the same sense that The Snowman, The Polar Express, Elf or Scrooged (the Bill Murray film!) are "about" Christmas.

I also think that neither Home Alone nor Batman returns, whilst set at Christmas, are really "christmas movies".

Why do I choose "Hogfather"? It's about belief...

The Grinch is a good family movie at Christmas too, yep. Thinking about it, that's why Die Hard's not on my list - it isn't an all-ages family viewing item, with drugs, office shenanigans and 18 or so bodies...
