I prefer to give gifts. Love watching their faces when they open them. I was thinking about this last night when asked for the umpteenth time over the last week or so 'what did I want for Christmas?' I couldn't think of anything. Lucky me..santa

As a child, like all children, I enjoyed receiving gifts. But as an adult I take great pleasure in giving gifts and watching my friends' faces as they open them. I choose very carefully so that it will be something they really want or need.

Giving is a two-way pleasure. Receiving, from the receiver's perspective, is less rewarding, ultimately.

Is it? Surely the reward of receiving is twofold..

1, knowing someone cares enough to give a gift

2, the gift itself..

Agreed and it does not matter what the gift is or what the cost is. I do enjoy giving but my social circle is tiny to say the least and pensions are meagre. I hope the receivers feel the same as me.
