I am an existing O2 customer on a monthly contract and a Virgin media customer. I am paying £24 for broadband with Virgin and £24 for a 5GB sim with O2!! It’s only just dawned on me that I’m paying way too much considering they have partnered up. Furthermore, I am a student and there are deals out there for £33 for broadband, sim and tv! Why won’t Virgin or O2 let me change to one of these packages? I have been passed from pillar to post by Virgin trying to find a solution.

Get a deal with the likes of USwitch for the mobile. It won't affect anything you do with Virgin Media broadband. To be honest £24 is cheap for broadband but a 6GB deal through USwitch cost 6.99 so £31 total

If you are within the 14 days change of mind period you can cancel the O2 sim
There may be cancellation fees to be paid for your Virginmedia contract however
You will get a much better sim only deal with O2 by using the USwitch website
Whether that will impact your contract deal with Virginmedia will have to be checked with them

Just bare in mind if you are in your minimum term with o2, you cant move to the uswitch deals, you must be out of contract...

Thanks! I agree that £24 is good for just broadband. As I'm in a contract I can’t switch. I should have double data as a virgin customer but for some reason it hasn’t been activated. Once it has been activated I should be ok. Thanks for your advice.
