I want to use a non-O2 e-SIM in a country my VOLT package does not cover but it seems my Pixel 4a has been locked by O2. (Phone was not locked when I bought it from Google). I'm now out of contract with O2, paying monthly, will I be able to use a non-O2 e-SIM when abroad without ending my O2 contract?

Can't see how an unlocked phone bought direct from Google could then be locked by O2.
O2 have not locked phones since 2018

I'm 99% sure that if the phone is indeed locked it won't have been done by O2
I'm not even sure that it is possible

Used to be a thing with iPhones, but not known it with Android.
Anyway, who knows why the OP thinks it's locked ?
