If you are a customer of O2, yes - take photo id with you. I did the same with a PAYG phone for my daughter once, as the phone was 20pounds cheaper in the (now gone) CPW shop one floor below the O2 shop - and I then went back to O2 Shop upstairs to get them to put in the new SIM, arrange the number swap, and transfer remaining balance off old large SIM to the new phone's smaller SIM. The staff said it happens quite often. Good luck, @tillyrose1.
