I've been in Italy for a few days now, and the connection is very unstable and often completely missing. This prevents me from using whatsapp or reading emails when I'm out of the house, why does this problem occur? Is it possible to solve it?

Manually search for a network, and you can try using any network, even those that show as Forbidden.

Also switch your handset down from 5G to 4G to see if that helps.

Your APN should be mobile.o2.co.uk, just check that.

Make sure both roaming and data roaming are enabled on the handset.

If you still get nothing when out of range of a WiFi signal, contact O2 via social media to remove any Roaming Bar they may have in place.
