I am from the UK and currently roaming in the US. Despite being told in a text message on arrival that I have 200 minutes of calls every day here, every time I try to make a call I get a voice message of a man telling me "The Service You Are Attempting To Use Has Been Restricted Or Is Unavailable. Please contact customer care for assistance. Message 0816265". The number at the end seems to change slightly sometimes and of course every time I message it I get a message saying it isn't a valid phone number. Why is this and how do I resolve it?
My parents don't have mobile phones or the internet (well they do but don't really know how to use them) so I need to call them to assure them I'm not dead yet. Any help appreciated!
Was hoping I could access some online chat to get some help but of course every single "speak to someone" or "start a conversation" button on the O2 site or app just leads to a FAQ. 😵😵😵

@Lev You need to speak to customer service to see if there are any roaming bars on your account. You can contact O2 via social media:
Facebook (https://o2uk.co/O2CFB) , Twitter (https://o2uk.co/O2CTW) or Instagram (https://o2uk.co/O2CIG)

Cheers. I've sent them DMs on all three and also did the public Tweet shame thing since that's usually the only way to get businesses to actually respond these days. Fingers crossed for a response soon!
Their info on FB Messenger says they are "available 24/7 on My O2" but I really cannot see how to contact anyone via My O2 at all. 😓
