Hello,
My dads new iphone everything works apart from sending SMS's - he can receive them fine.
"Activation unsucessful"
"Turn on imessage to try again."
(1) I have turned off imessage and facetime - restarted the phone and turned them back on.
(2) Its been several days since the sim was first inserted
(3) The phone number is showing correctly under Settings > Phone > My Number
(4) Hes connected to Wifi
(5) date and time are correct
The only thing that looks odd is when i login to his o2 account it shows his old phone model under the devices section and there is no way to update it ?
The sim card is new but its been on pay as you got for about 15 years is there any way that the pre pay deal hes on doesnt support it ? Any help would be great ?

What number is showing in "start new messages from" and is it ticked?
