Hi,
since moving to o2 from Virgin the iMessage isn’t working fully. I can use it with some people but not the second number on my account (husbands number) have been in to store and they changed some setting to fix it but still not working to husbands number. His iMessage is also working to everyone but me

iMessage either works or it doesn't.
As the issue is with specific numbers it would suggest that they are blocked at device level.
Check for blocked numbers in contacts app.

O2 work slightly different with Iphones It may well be that iData is not active on the account
If you ring O2 on 202 or 0344 809 0202 they can help

Wouldn't work for any numbers if iData was missing.
